Children Singing Network

Joint efforts to strengthen singing in children and young people.

Through singing, children's influence and mental health are strengthened. Singing also counteracts exclusion. Despite this, knowledge of the children's voice and singing teaching in school are decreasing. Structural measures are needed. Therefore, a Children Singing Network is forming. The purpose of the network is joint efforts to strengthen singing in children and young people, demonstrate the effects of singing according to research, increase equality and quality around singing and increase children's influence over their own voice.

The first Nordic Song Symposium will be arranged in Oslo 21-22 September 2023. The program will include a great number of subjects related to children and singing as one of the main topics during the conference, see https://www.sangsymposium.com/. There will also be a Nordic seminar where organizations working with children and singing can meet and share experiences and research reports. To able the work of this network, the organisations listed below are now together applying for economic support.
